A Day in the Life of the Creative Director at ProVia

What does a director of creative and design do? At ProVia, this role drives creative direction and sets the long-term vision for all marketing design. The day begins with a morning checklist — emails, voicemails, and a calendar review — followed by building out the to-do list.

A team meeting reviews project tickets and long-term outstanding work. Individual one-on-ones follow with each team member: graphic designers, a 3D designer, a web designer, and a photographer. Art and design have given this director the opportunity to lead people who share the same skills and passions. All creative output — printed materials and beyond — is proofed and reviewed to ensure it aligns with brand guidelines and creative objectives.

An afternoon is spent with the creative team discussing new ideas and getting their feedback. Time in the office at the end of the day is reserved for planning, answering questions, and thinking — because steering a brand in the right direction requires space to conceptualize. The team here, this director says, creates some of the best marketing in the industry.
