A Day in the Life of a CNC Operator at nuCamp

What does a CNC operator do? At nuCamp, the job is drilling and routing cabinetry parts for the interior of the company's camper trailers. The day starts with clocking in, walking to the machine, loading the day's programs, and running a test cycle to make sure everything is working as expected.

Math and geometry are a constant part of the day — essential for accurate cuts. When the machine runs low on material, it gets reloaded so production can continue uninterrupted. Finished parts are organized into sets to make the builders' jobs easier, then moved to inventory to await assembly. The shift wraps up with a food break and a team safety meeting.

This operator has a name for the sawdust that fills the air: man glitter. It's that kind of job — genuinely rewarding, hands-on work with something real to show for it at the end of every day.
